ESE Music

Founded by Eric Snowball in the 1968, ESE Music, based in Maidstone, has been a haven for all musicians for nearly half a century. Renowned as Kent's premier rock shop, Eric has been selling and repairing guitars, basses, amps, drums, pa systems, studio equipment for musicians of all ages.

Who's Eric? ESE stands for Eric Snowball electronics and is named after the founder and owner. Now several hundred years old he still runs the business he established over 3 decades ago. ESE has always been THE rock shop for Kent supplying musicians of several generations.

Eric orginally started in the hire business, and through out the 70's was "the" name to have on your equipment. Legend has it that Eric was the first person to "fly" a P.A. He also used to design and produced his own line of P.A and guitar amplifiers.

In the early 80's Eric moved to Upper Fant Road, this is where he has not moved (literally) from ever since.

In 1989 a new extension of the shop was built, making more space and more potential product usage. It was opened in 1989 by Jim Marshall himself. There is a plaque in the shop that commemorates this.
